Very excited to have a pair of redwings in the garden today!

Seen so many birds, including one which I don't know what it is!
Happy day :0)

Did it look like this?

If yes, a Fieldfare. They've been coming into gardens country-wide after the snow.

Mystery Bird

It was quite small and slim, bigger than the blue tits, but slimmer. Brown and very sort of slender - it had a delicate looking throat.

Exciting stuff!
Glad you posted the picture of the fieldfares. Got a pair here today!!
Have got a dunnock, the one I saw I can't identify is all one colour and much more dainty looking.

tail up? might be a wren?
one of my dunnocks is possibly immature, far less streaky than most pics show and the grey not pronounced nor the cheek feathers.

Any chance it was a blackcap? Maybe a female?

Was having a similar thought myself. slim looking build when compared to tits or sparrows etc sound about right. I had one (male) in the garden just the other day and it took me a few moments to suss it out as it was unexpected.
