Hi everyone, My name is Ken, and I am very new to the world of birdwatching. 4 years ago I moved from the UK to Bulgaria, and I am situated between the Rusenski lom valley and the river Danube, in a small village called Ekzarh Yosif. My main interest is herpetology, but whilst living here I could not help but notice the abundance of bird life, from herons spoonbills, grebes and cormorants on the Danube, to the Hoopoes, bee eaters, orioles and woodpeckers in my garden, to the merlins hobbys and Egyptian vultures of the Rusenski lom valley, it is a truly remarkable place!!!

Hi Ken, welcome to the forum. I just thought you might want to visit an area not far from where you are. It is another remarkable area in the country called Suha reka. here is some more info about the area www.naturetravel.eu I just came back from there and it was fantastic. Spring and summer should be even better.
