Is there any good birding around Cork to be done at the end of this month? I'd really like to see Corncrake, but I guess this is not the best part of Ireland for them?

Completely wrong end of the country for corncrake. Non-existent in Cork.

In May you have spring migration potential at any headland, with the old head of kinsale playing host to a nicely viewable seabird colony.

You can seawatch for manx shearwater offshore.
