Pt.Pelee bound-where to stay (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm new here--but not to birding. Last time I went to Pt.Pelee in Ontario the b&b I chose was not adequate. Anyone have any experience with good places to stay in May?

Greetings, Grace, and a warm welcome to Birdforum from Admin and the Mods!

I'm envious of you already -- I've never visited Pelee, although I'm only about 4 1/2 hours away (May is also my busiest time at work and prime warbler time off is difficult, unfortunately).

Consequently, I can't offer you any good advice about B&Bs or anything else at Pelee, but someone will come alone shortly, I'm sure, with some. The advice I CAN offer is: as soon as you find a good place, RESERVE NOW! Pelee is a North American Mecca, so good spots are probably booked very far in advance.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your time on the forum -- it's a great site, very friendly and full of all kinds of bird-related information from folks happy to share.

We were there 29 April last year and stayed at a hotel in Leamington. It was easier than B&B's which aren't always open that early in the season. I think it was a Comfrot Inn, about 15 minutes from the Park, as I recall. The hotel was ok and reasonably priced. No restaurant but lots of take-outs etc close by.
Are you going to be there for the Birding Festival? I envy you the trip.
