Very distant through a heat haze. Any thoughts (on the bird, not the phenomena of heat haze in Scotland)?

Redshank feels like a good shout but you'll never be certain from these pics. Any extra details from observing the bird in the field?

The experienced birder I was with was leaning towards Redshank. I was seeing a lot of white in the under parts though, and couldn't pick out any red/orange in the legs. There also seemed to be some black in the face, but at that distance, I'm really not sure. Knew it would be a long shot (no pun intended) from those photos, but thanks to all for trying.
