I also found a book in my collection titled "A Birder's Guide to Thailand" by Keith Taylor, (self?) published in 1993. I do not know where I bought it (or why, other than to add it to my always expanding birding library :), and I can not find any copies for sale using google search.

This book is not a field guide, rather it is a guide to where to find birds. This book's introduction says it provides directions for 6 loop trips designed to allow a birder to find all Thailand species. The back pages contain a checklist. May still be useful, so perhaps you can find a used copy in a Thai bookshop.

A bit late answering but I have just found your question however as you are not coming to Thailand till November........

Attached a photo of the book I use for ID this is the Thai version, it is also printed in English. There are over a thousand species listed with very good photos and area information.

There are also many other good ID books available.

There are also several Thai birding web sites most of which are commercial operations. Some of them.

The national parks are great places for birds but you will find many species around where you are staying to start you off. Where you will be is surrounded by national parks and they all have Government information web sites. Also this site of a friend of mine: https://www.thainationalparks.com/

Feel free to PM Me for any info on Thailand birds, if you do I may not answer promptly as I often travel and am out of internet range.
