Johann Gambolputty, post 4,
On the WEB-site of House f Outdoor I have published a power point with the history an quality development of Swarovski Optics. To make that power point I have, among others, measured the transmission spectra of the binoculars from the different time periods. It is obvious from these data , that the transmission increases enormously with the production time and my guess is that this is caused by using better optical glass but especially using improved coatings.

Thanks, this is good to know. So I wasn't that far away with my guess.
