Black Tern was later on the Moors, but didn't stay long. At least one Common Tern chick has hatched on the rafts.

Noted at the sailing pool at least 85 Canada geese with a large number of young. Have the photo.
Similarly a large number of Canada geese on the sewage meadow with young. Haven't counted them but not the same ones that were on the sailing pool . On the way back a few greylag staying out of the way of the sailing craft.( JTB - is it just the lack of geese at the moors that is the concern? hadn't seen your tweet then. there was at least one swan on the Moors northern end. Wasn't really looking for them.)

Of note 3 tern chicks being brooded. that I could see Got the photo.
North Moors pool - still can't find the shoveler and chick but at least 6 mallard boys wandering around.

Seen a male bullfinch there on several occasions recently as well as a GSW. Bullfinch seemed intent on getting into the seed feeder!!
Of note today was the fact that the GSW was a juvenile. Got the photo.
Intimidated by the great tits and blue tits that wanted to feed off the peanut feeder. Not put off but definitely wary. Seed feeders low.

At the Flashes the 1st summer med was pointed out to me. Thanks guys. Wasn't really looking because on past experience the little @$%^ disappears into the under growth for ages and comes out when you are not looking. Glad the redshank and tufted brood appeared. Certainly the latter were in hiding. Although I knew the redshank was there same thing applied!

Noted on the Moors a buzzard overhead minus 2 wingtip feathers on each side gave it a somewhat surreal look.

Hopefully the push of hot weather over the next 48 hours will see some reports of Painted Lady reaching the reserve.
