On the 26th of August an Osprey with a ring was photographed at Klingnauer Stausee, Switzerland. It was ringed two months before as nestling in North Wales. This is the first record of a British Osprey in Switzerland.

The Greater Flamingo which recently turned up in Préverenges near Lausanne had also a ring. It was ringed 1991 as a juvenile in the Camargue. In winter 1995 it turned up in El Hondo near Alicante in Spain, in August 1995 in Sardinia. Later it was recorded several times in the Camargue and 2001 again on Sardinia. March 2007 it spent in the Delta of the Ebro in Spain, May 2009 on Sardinia again and in June it was seen in Tunisia. On the 13. July it was last recorded in the Camargue and two months later in Switzerland.

Well done to the young Osprey lets hope it completed its journey safely.

Tha Flamingo is a bit of a globetrotter it must have a well stamped passport.
