Brown-Backed Munia lumped with Black-and-white Mannikin (Clements 07, H&M 03, S&M 96).
Malawi Batis and Reichenow's Batis lumped with Cape Batis (Clements 07, H&M 03; also IOC 08)
The new Clements update doesn't recognize the split of Stonechat into
- European Stonechat
- Siberian Stonechat
- African Stonechat
any longer and lumps them all into Stonechat. As S&M are therefore the only ones to accept the split I will lump the three species (I suppose some bad letters from european twitchers will reach Cornell soon

(American) Green-winged Teal lumped with Eurasian Teal --> Common Teal
S&M 96, H&M 03, Clements 08 all agree on same treatment! (other than the common name:-O)

What's the rationale for the lumping, do you know? [But maybe this isn't the proper place to ask about this?]
I dont know either, but Clements 08 policy is to follow AOU and SACC; according to Avibase, neither AOU or SACC have recognized carolinensis as a separate species recently.
Page for Swamp Prinia added; split from Rufous-vented Prinia is recognised by S&M96, Clements 08 and IOC 08.
Pale-crowned Cisticola split from Pectoral-patch Cisticola.
Angola Cisticola lumped with Stout Cisticola (Clements 08; H&M 03)
