As Niels suggested, this is a thread for logging name changes to bird entries on opus. That's name changes only: if you split or lump something, please post it over on Niels's thread.

For reference, Niels and Rasmus created a standard for resolving these things in this thread. The short version: follow any consensus you can find among Clements, Howard and Moore, and Gill and Wright, then use redirects for the various rejected alternatives.

Special thanks to the creators of Avibase, without which this project would be even more of a headache than it already is.
 
Bradypterus alfredi: Bamboo Scrub-Warbler to Bamboo Warbler.

Changes without explanation are based on the consensus above. Anything tangled enough to have no consensus (meaning authorities disputing three or more competing options: yes, I'm looking at you, Oenanthe xanthoprymna) will get its own discussion thread.

Just clarified the genus Falcunculus to agree on "Shriketit" rather "Shrike Tit" and accept (with Gill and Wright and Clements) Crested Shriketit rather than Eastern Shriketit for F. frontatus.

Just changed the eleven species with "Ceylon" in their titles to "Sri Lanka," following Gill and Wright, Clements, and the most recent Sibley and Monroe.

I also changed the Hill Myna complex as follows:

Gracula religiosa moved from Eastern HM to Common HM.

G. indica moved from Indian HM to Southern HM.

Oh, and all four members of this complex are now unhyphenated per Gill and Wright.
