Not really into all this sub species stuff I"ll be honest I get a bit lost with it so can somebody help me? I was in Egypt last Jan and saw,I"ll call it a Pied Wagtail, around the pool,my question is.Would it have been a Pied Wagtail or a White Wagtail which I know is a different colour version of the same bird but I just like to keep them seperate or being Africa would it have been called something compleatly different?I"m lost help.

As a species, this bird is called white wagtail (see also the opus page). Pied wagtail is a name for the subspecies that is mostly found on the British Isles. Therefore, you birds in Egypt would be White W.
