What kind of duck is this? There were a lot of them today on the lake, but if I remember correctly I didn't saw them previously. Thank you in advance.

They've certainly started migrating. The spring duck migration in Malta generally coincides with the full moons in February and March. The last full moon was on the 2nd March and not many ducks were seen...best day so far was last Saturday with about 400 Garganeys and Ferruginous Ducks. I expect the peak migration to coincide with the next full moon on the 31st given favourable weather.
