ebooks - bad news for UK readers.

To be taxed, printed books are tax free......

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...expensive.html

I'd already noticed that on some titles, the cost of a 'Kindle' version and a hard copy, is almost the same.

Hi,
that was 2015..

it has been scrapped in 2018, to be the same as printed books.

https://www.thebookseller.com/news/e...e-books-869716

But, I don't know if the UK government has implemented this reduction? or if something more recent has overturned it again!

Apologies, why would it be so simple as to look at the date at the top of an article, I mean, it's not like it's the way we've usually done it....!

The banner has 28th May 2019 for me! unlike a Newspaper, that date, on that website, is pretty useless by the look of it!

But I can't find any evidence to say the UK Govt has acted on this, and reduced the VAT. We could still be paying higher VAT for eBooks than print copies.
