What is on this pigeon? (1 Viewer)

This pigeon showed up in my yard yesterday and I notice it was limping and had this strange bump on its front. Any idea what is going on here? It almost looks like an egg shell.

Agreed it's an eggshell - likely from an accidentally broken egg, as there is dried yolk on the edges (if it had hatched naturally, the yolk would all be absorbed by the chick).

Next time it has a wash, it'll likely get rid of the shell.
