A new hope for the Carrizal Seedeater? (1 Viewer)

The species was previously only known by three specimens found on Isla Carrizal in Venezuela in 2001. After its bamboo habitat was completely destroyed it was feared to be vanished until this year. Three new sites holding both males and females were discovered in April 2008.

Unfortunately there is only a throwaway line in the Rare Birds Year Book 2009 about the rediscovery. It would be great to read the complete report of the guys who discovered the new habitat and to see some new photographs.
