Weather For November, belatedly.

It's been a mix of weather since November started, rain showers, winds, cloudy, some sunny periods, but today constant mizzle.

Weather still mixed over the last week or so, rain, cloud with sunny intervals. Sun & cloudtoday, but it's dry.

Today started off sunny and pleasantly comfortable but by 2pm it was VERY overcast, gloomy and there was a definite bite in the air which had me cursing my lack of gloves

Rain forecast overnight but the cold weather not supposed to hit us here in Northumberland until Tuesday or Wednesday

Beautiful frosty, sunny morning with blue skies and not a cloud to be seen..............until 9.30am when a HUGE cloud blew in from the coast and we had two/three brief blizzards

Bizarrely enough we had one customer saying she couldn't understand why it was snowing I refrained from stating the obvious....it's mid-November AND there''s been nowt in the papers except blizzards and a Big Freeze on it's way for the past week Silly woman!

We've had sun, rain & cloudy days. Nice & sunny today, but the temperature has dropped like a stone.

Hasn't it just! I popped along to High Newton this afternoon after work to look for the Lesser Grey Shrike and it was BALTIC as we stood in the car park watching it as it perched on a gatepost just 50yds or so from us I then had a very quick scan of the sea to look for possible waders & velvet scoters (no joy there) and it was raw!!!
Must say I DO like this cooler weather though (compared to melting in the heat of summer!) as I feel alive in it's freshness

Clear skies at dusk promising another chilly night (I needed socks on in bed last night despite an extra duvet!!!) and this past hour the wind has really picked up. Tomorrow is forecast a bit of a wet 'n' windy 'un. If it's not TOO bad I quite fancy popping along to Stag Rocks to look for the reported (for last three weeks!) Velvet Scoters amongst the resident large flocks of Common Scoters.

Congratulations, Gill, on the Lesser Grey Shrike. I've only seen the great one, at Portland Bill. ( Probably wouldn't know a Lesser one if it pecked me,)
Still chilly here even with the lovely sunshine.
