yard birds

must have a good yard to have a winter wren.

I have a big yard (45 acres) not sure if that counts as a yard but best yard bird so far is Connecticut Warbler, also have had Clay-colored Sparrow, and Harris' Sparrow, Golden-winged Warbler and Saw-whet Owl. Almost had Hawk Owl but it only came as close as 1/2 mile away.

I just have one acre, there is some nice brushy stuff at the side of the yard where the sulking stuff likes to hang out. You have some cool stuff there though! On my entire life list, I never got Harris' Sparrow or Clay-colored, but the other species I've only seen in other states. When I was working in Texas, I got to see about 10 Connecticut Warblers playing together in a puddle, everyone at the hawkwatch site where amazed!
