Notebooks in larger heights (1 Viewer)

On Friday I will go to Ecuador. In the specification of my Notebooks (Dell xps) the maximum height is indicated as 3.048 m (for enterprise and storage). A data processing expert meant that possibly the writing/read head can damage the non removable disk. Does someone have experiences with the use in larger heights? Do I have to do without the equipment? In the hotels at the Papalacta it will give nevertheless also PCS.

My laptop was fine in Quito (2850 metres), but I don't know what a laptop would do at higher elevations such as Papallacta. I think the problem is with lack of atmospheric pressure at high elevations causing the drive not to work.

I did a bit of Googling and it didn't come up with much but I found something at http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t14038.html - you need to scroll down a bit.

I also found this: http://www.lightstalkers.org/high-altitude-laptop-problems-
