Getting Offshore in Hawaii (1 Viewer)

For the past few months I have been looking for info on proper pelagic birding in Hawaii. From Australia, all I can find are inshore trips and whale watching. These I sure have the chance of finding something, but I am keen to have a shot for proper tubnoses...any advice? I am over for a week in Sept and would arrange my trip around such an opportunity.

Try organsing a fishing boat out of Kauai and / or Oahu; we did both and booked remotely via the internet; great views of Hawaiian Petrel, Mottled Petrel and Newell's Shearwater.

It may be worth contacting Hadoram Shirahai to see who he has used recently.

cheers, alan
