Nest of Hatched Chickadees (1 Viewer)

Hi from WA.,
I discovered this nest on my balcony in a wooden planter box, the chicks only have down, no feathers yet and am not seeing a parent bird in the nest much since i found it yesterday, am still seeing the parent nearby though.
Now that the parent knows i've seen the nest will they abandon it?
Thanks in advance,
H.

The parents shouldn't abandon a nest so quickly. They will want to take care of the chicks, so if you keep your distance as much as possible, they should be fine.
