is the ep from a newer nikon scope?

I'd say it's the 20/30/38x wide EP with the twist up eyecup missing... so 30x wide - should give great views, but only when looking through the instrument, not when looking at it.

Yes,it is the 20x-30x-38x, but not a standard is not an incomplete unit but a quite rare,and pricey at the time, custom modification that was offered by some japanese photo retailer a few years was modified to accept nikon DS camera adapters . They removed the original eyecup asembly and fitted the special eyecup..One thing i remember is that this modification was irreversible..have seen those eyepieces for sale with nikon scopes in japan a few times over the years...
