Hi all,
I've been in the Scottish Highlands for a few weeks, on Skye near Uig for the last 2. I've never seen so many buzzards, herons & ravens. The hooded crows are a refreshing change to the usual black variety found down south, but I got a real thrill the other day when a golden eagle appeared over the hilltop where I was standing. My long-awaited first sighting (not counting one in captivity I saw a very long time ago). It couldn't get much better...Then this morning I was on a small beach & saw 2 eagles above the cliffs out along the headland. I could see the white tails even at a distance. Eventually they made their way along the cliff towards me, ending up directly overhead. Fabulous! Huge! Magnificent! I took some snaps, not the best photos ever - they were very high & I don't have the right gear - but at least I can prove I saw them. Still on a high thinking about it. D.
