5) Not a clue, is this wear????

Many thanks,

Another micro

Thumbed through the micro guide about 5 times trying to ID this, closest I can get is Ancylis upupana, and I don't think that's close enough!

1 maybe Blastobasis lacticolella
2 Rusty Dot Pearl
3 looks like a very faded Barred Red
4 ?
5 Nut-tree Tussock
6 Tachystola acroxantha

Thanks aeshna, just realised my 3 & 4 ID's were the wrong way around, just edited them. I have no idea how I skimmed over Tachystola acroxantha that many times and didn't spot it. I did consider Barred Red but thought the very faded cross lines didn't look angled enough, but looking at it again, I think it's a better fit than my Scotopteryx guess.

Thanks again,

Tom

I agree with all aeshna5's dets.
#4 is too worn for an accurate id but I'm pretty sure that it's a noctuine and not a Mythimna (the latter would have hairy eyes when viewed obliquely with a 10x hand lens).

Last 2

Thought I'd squeeze these 2 in I'm struggling with as well, if you can help. Thanks for the info Martin.

1) Cochylidia sp.

2) Pug sp.? I was thinking Satyr Pug, and then at one point I'd even convinced myself it wasn't a pug.

Cheers,
Tom

1. Looks to be Celypha striana to me.
2. I really don't like Pugs and this one is practically unmarked, so not my area. Sorry.

Thank you Andy, Celypha striana it is. No worries about the Pug, I know what to expect with most pug posts - no ID. Just got the impression this wasn't a worn moth, so I thought it might be ID'able.

I agree totally with Andy!
The Pug looks to be especially unmaked so it would be a gen det job for me.
