BUT ! you need to download Google translate FIRST to allow the programme to translate from Japanese to english OR your chosen language,

http://www.digisco.jp/

A really good thing i like about this Japanese Digiscoping blog is that the author shows the original image, then his processed picture, not too many people do this eh?

The birds were around 10 yards and the Kowa 884 is used with the 30X eyepiece, the S95 is certainly capable of detail

This site belongs to Yoshiharu Ishimaru, a well respected digiscoper in Japan who has been on the scene there since 1998. He also makes some amazing adapters.

PS if you cant download the google translate, then click on the japanese writing at the bottom left of the picture to see the difference between original and processed pics

i was very impressed with the results

New post up on this blog this morning saying that the ISO can be raised to ISO 400 and pictures are still acceptable, pictures dont look too bad.

Looking at the reviews...this looks to be a solid camera; as the S90 is too. Not a huge difference but video is the up and coming thing for many so that is an improvement. More so I think is the AF tracking....I like that feature with birding.

The ISO range is the same as the S90, and while I don't have the S95 to compare, the S90 does fine in low light situations I feel so any improvement as Paul suggested it might have will only add to this camera.

the camera is a light weight, another big plus in the digiscoping world as the smaller you can get and lighter, the better in my mind.

It seems that camera makers come out pretty fast (time wise) with the latest and greatest as the S90 hasn't been out there that long. The S95 is an improvement though in a few features.... Looking at the images it sure looks to be the same visually as the S90.

It would be interesting to compare this to the SD4000. jim

Thank you for introducing the WEB site with me Paul

I wish to express our gratitude to the person who saw the web site.

The improvement from S90 to S95
1. The continuous shooting performance doubles.
2. It became easy to adjust the eyepiece with the clearance of the camera.
3. High-definition television taking a picture

KOWATSN-884/TE-17W/CANON S95

Please look at the original picture of which it takes a picture with this system.

http://www.digisco.jp/mov/aIMG_0684.jpg
http://www.digisco.jp/mov/aIMG_0823.jpg

It can be said that the image qualities are the better best than various cameras according to my experience.
The success rate of taking a picture improved because the continuous shooting performance had improved.

I think S95 to be a big improvement compared with S90.

Digiscoper of Japan began to move to this performance.

Great images!

Hi Turbo

Thanks for posting such fantastic images and to Paul for starting this thread off.

Can you tell us details of your adaptor to the eyepiece?

Many thanks

Dave

Here is the S90 adapter he sells. The S95 will be similar. In addition, you need his proprietary telescoping eyepiece Turbo Adapter VCA-1. Note it sized for the Nikon DS eyepieces. If you use another alpha scope another adapter is required.

It is NOT a lightweight, streamlined solution. And at ~50,000 yen + it is certainly not inexpensive! But custom designed kit usually costs $$$.

FYI, here is a chart showing how to connect the 3 types of cameras to various scopes with the current Turbo Adapter system.

cheers,
Rick

Hi Dave,

The optical system is a combination named KowaTSN-884/TE-17W/Canon PowerShotS95.

Bracket BR-S90 for the camera to tie to S95 is installed.
BR-S90 is equipped with the sight installation part and the cable installation part.

To unite S95 with TE-17W, TurboAdapterP2, TurboAdapterVCA-1, and BR-S90 are needed.

CH-P2 is used for the tuning of the optical system.
It is the one to reinforce the connection of the telescope and the eyepiece.

The gimbals pan head of parts that support the balance plate and hips that correct cable and the weight balance in which the sight and the blur to make easily to copy are prevented and the Digiscoping exclusive uses is used as other parts.

It is a taking a picture system that prioritizes the image quality. It becomes very expensive.
It is a price named 4500GBP in all systems.
It is a price for which 600mmf4.0 camera lens in the Middle Ages can be bought.

Thank you for Rick-san support.
It was invited by the friend and it came to participate.
My best regards in the future please.

Thanks

Turbo

Thanks,Paul for showing these amazing shots taken by Turbo.

Hi Christine

The power of the internet, Google Translate, and the confidence of a person from another language/culture to try and talk in our native language.

You have to give the guy credit ( Turbo) and the great digiscoped pictures he has shown us, again real credit to Mr Kirk, this website does bring people together from other nations in other tongues, i dont see it any where else on the internet, just this site, in regard to digiscoping of course !

Paul

Turbo-san, thanks for posting your beautiful digiscoped photos. They are very sharp.
Also, we look forward to seeing more of your photos and discussion about the S95.

Hi,

How does the shape differ from the S90? Is the shape a Carbon copy? I would like to know because it would be nice if this fits the S95 aswell

Done some research and apparently this eBay seller says it can

but I need confirmation

The S95 is very slightly smaller than the S90. For example it's a bit narrower from front to back but this shouldn't really affect the useability of this adapter. The tripod thread looks to be in the same place as before.

Scroll down for pic of bottom of camera.

Well according to wikipedia (I know not the most reliable) the measurements are: W×H×D(mm)

Canon S90:100.0 × 58.4 × 30.9
Canon S95: 99.8 × 58.4 × 29.5

its really all down to will it fit :(

Also had a reply of the eBay seller asking if he can confirm it fits the S95 this is his reply:

"hi buyer
sorry it my misstake
this item did not confirm canon s95
thank you"
