Which Wheatear sp, Kaliakra, Bulgaria, September (1 Viewer)

I am reliably informed the photos attached are of a Pied Wheatear (I presume juvenile?)
However for the purpose of the learning curve, please can anyone advise me if possible which features if any would separate from other similar species, such as for example, Black-eared Wheatear. Any help appreciated thank you.

Just to get the ball rolling, I think the scaly back should make it a Pied. But I'm not sure how to exclude a hybrid with Eastern Black-eared

Are these one individual, or several? The bird in the second set of images seems to have a dark throat.

As Roland says, with that amount of scaling on the upperparts, it (they?) must be Pied, or at least mostly Pied. A few Black-eared are supposed to have hybridised with the local Pied population in the past, although personally I haven't seen one there. I do remember being there one day in late summer when there were juveniles popping up all over the place and just giving up - there were probably several species involved.

Kaliakra Wheatears have been discussed here before, if you do a search.
