2 Has enough flank barring for a Common Snipe

3 Red throated Diver

blimey Brian - hope you've improved a bit since these shots ;)

agree with u Jane except I can't do 5 and Brian might be devious enough for 2 to be the same as 1

Assuming they're all taken in Britain . . . .

1 Common Snipe (surely not Jack, with a central crown stripe!?!)
2 Common Snipe
3 ? Grey Phalarope (far from confident!)
4 1st-summer Little Gull
5 juv. [White-breasted] Dipper
6 Fieldfare

Michael

I couldn't decide if that was a crown stripe or not, in fact I wasn't sure which way the bird was pointing

I'll take you word for it. Number 2 ~ Jack Snipe!

I reckoned there might just be enough visible of the head at the top left of the pic to hint at Jack Snipe's head pattern. Sorry! ;)

Wait 'til you see the next lot!
