Would like some advice regarding lenses... (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I am new to photography and have a Yashica 230-AF,
with 35-70mm and 80-200mm yashica AF lenses.

I wanted to ask whether a 400mm "telephoto" lens
would add a lot to my arsenal and is it worth me splashing
out up to £100 ?

The exact lense in question is a Yashica fit Sigma 400mm f5.6 AF lens.

Any help would be appreciated.

Much thanks

Hello, and welcome on board!
I can't help with this particular lens model (I'm a Canon user), but much depends on what kind of photography you are interested in.
Definitely, if it's bird photography we're dealing here, a 400mm prime will be up to the task (and sometimes you'll find you're short of range ...) ... in the used long(ish) telephoto world £100 seems a good price, but be prepared to spend more for newer lenses
Hope other users will add their advice
Cheers,
Max
