Manfrotto, now MIC?

Another contributor recently mentioned Manfrotto Element Traveller tripods. Though not to be recommended for scope use, they are inexpensive and show strong similarities to other Chinese products (Sirui).
As Gitzo's entry-level sister in the Vitec group I expect Manfrotto have been feeling the heat of Far-East competition and decided, if you can't beat 'em join 'em.

Err, what is MIC please? I'm guessing it means Made In China. Ah well. Probably more so for the lower budget side of their retail marketing. Most products currently being manufactured or fabricated n Italy.
