Reverse Lens Macro

I am having a dabble at reverse lens macro. I read somewhere that while someone was trying photograph a fly at close quarters it flew into the lens!!! Took ages to come out! Is there a cover around that will fit onto the reversed lens and is near enough to the glass to stop this happening? It would also be some sort of protection for the lens electronics.

I don't think this is possible because the 'back focus' of lenses ie the distance from the back of the lens to the sensor or film is a very short distance indeed, and this is the distance you will have to be from your subject. You have to expect lighting problems due to the need to get so close to your subject and this is a big disadvantage when you want all the light you can get so you can set a reasonable f number to get some depth of field. Good luck.
