iPhone 7 Headphones cable release (1 Viewer)

As you may know the new iPhone 7 does not have a headphones jack. Instead it allows standard 3.5mm headphones to connect via the lightning charging port (through an adapter).
As we all eventually have to upgrade our phones, I had been curious if one would still be able to use the volume rocker on the headphones (when connected via the lightning adapter) as a cable release to take photos.
So I was near an Apple Store and had them test it for me.

Happy to report that it works just like it did with older models. So the iPhone remains a decent choice for phone scoping.
