Can someone ID this duck ? Minneasota, USA

I live in Monticello Minnesota and around my neighborhood, there have been two ducks that I've been seeing almost daily for the past month while walking my dog. The smaller duck I'm assuming is a mallard, but I have no idea what the larger black duck is and I've never seen one like it before.

Hi and welcome to Bird Forum.

As Fugl says, it’s one of the vast array of domestic Mallard breeds.

Cheers

The big duck is a domestic-type Mallard. Note the blue speculum (mirror) on the wing, and the down-turned bill. In Muscovies and hybrids the speculum would be green and the bill would be more horizontal.
