Your first bird of 2014

A few people have already answered this on the "last bird of 2013" thread, mostly with wonderful-sounding species from asia and australasia, so here's a dedicated thread for your amusement.

Blue tit.

As always, Goldfinch on the garden Nijer feeder. Still one of my favourite birds even though I see them everyday.

They are beautiful birds so have around, but one I rarely see in my garden.

My regular early morning Robin was the first bird I saw this morning, sitting in the bush by my back door waiting for me to feed him some suet pellets.

Some presumably wood pigeons got spooked out of a tree on the 1am walk home from the pub. However the weather is so terrible I've yet to see a bird post-sunrise.

Fifteen hours in and yet to see/hear a bird ! Is this a record? (I can see some sky over the airport from the office but I've yet to see a bird; there is usually the odd passer-by (Passer-by?!) but, so far nowt).
