Just a quick note to say hullo to all at the bird forum as I'm new here.

A short time ago I bought a Nikon D200 and hope to put it to good use as a birder. I have no great lens for such at the moment, only a Nikkor 17-55mm and on lone to me a Nikkor 80-200 with 2 Tc's.

Been out today taking some birdy in flight pictures. Not so good though as I needed to get my apperture compensation sorted better. Also, all hand held. Opps. Perhaps soon I'll have a better lens VR also.

Hi Ashley,

Welcome to Birdforum.

Well done if you have got flight pictures, mine always end up as showing the birds tail or completly missing it.
