New Nikon Spotting Scope 2013 (1 Viewer)

At an optics fair today in the Boston area I asked the rep when the Monarch scopes would be out. He said he had been told early next year, although he couldn't be more precise. He had no information on why they were delayed. He did mention there were some samples out there, although he had not been able to get one.

On hand he also had a new D750 body--wow!

thanks for info,
there will be a long winter it seems,

the D750 would be perfect for the monarch scope and photo adapter,
:t:

.... and you probably would get only 10 year warranty max here in Sweden....if the same as for the NIKON EDG-85A + 20-60X....http://www.gofoto.se/nikon-edg85a--2060x-p-2740-c-262.aspx ..... 30 years for the Meopta Meostar S2 82 HD :t:

It seems Clifton cameras (inside EU also) gives only 2 year warranty on the new Monarch spotting scope... http://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/Nikon_MONARCH_Objective_Lens_Unit_82_ and on the EDG http://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/Nikon_Fieldscope_EDG_65mm_Angled

Well, if I don´t care about warranty, go Nikon go... :)

yep, I know,

just curious about the monarch scopes,
modularity is nice (for travel)
the photo adapter is interesting,

BUT probably the eye relief of the zooms are not good enough for me wearing glasses anyway,

but it would have been nice to look at (and through) them before
investing in a new scope.

I also like the outline of the scope and would also like to look through
it. Nice taking astro ep.

I'm sorry if I've asked this question before, but is it reasonable of me to assume that a Baader Hyperion zoom astro ep would be compatible with the Monarch scope? I know it's usually pointless hypothesising about a future release, but it may prompt a deferral of interest on my part in, for example, a Swarovski ATX or a Meopta S2.

we can only hope,
but I can't find any official data from nikon confirming this.
