British protected species list? (1 Viewer)

Coming up to nesting season again, can anyone give me a link to where I can download a current copy of the protected list.

Yes, all wild birds are protected by the law. There is a general licence to permit the killing of certain species IF they are causing a problem (crows etc.) and it is legal to kill schedule 2 species outside the close season (game birds, wildfowl etc.). However, I suspect that the original question, with its reference to nests, relates to the Schedule 1 species. It is an offence to disturb the nest of a schedule 1 species. Personally I would add that it's not a good idea to disturb the nest of any other bird either, even if it doesn't have this extra level of protection.
