First reports from the arrival of serious birders yesterday Sun 16/04, on the Lesvos Facebook Group .

Here's a summary concerning reports of the condition of some birding sites:
Lozaria fields track (Salt Pans - Tsiknias River ) is good
Kalami Marsh - dry
Wetland opposite Salt Works has good levels of water at present.
Tsiknias River and lower ford has suffered damage to the surrounding vegetation over the winter and has low water levels.

Some good migrants amongst those reported by birders on the island today 17/04/17 as reported on the Lesvos Facebook Group .

Apparently there's been a few showers today in the general Kalloni Area.

Thanks for your update on birding sites Eleni.Good to know that there's some lying water holding birds on the wetlands for birders visiting in the next week or so.

A good sighting to kick off the day was the high flying Griffon Vulture over the Amali Peninsula near Haramida by local enthusiast, Vaggelis Spatharis.

A birder staying in the South West (Plomari) reports 2 rock buntings as follows:

"A pair were seen on the gravel road between Plomari and the landfill site on the way back from Milies/Toumba at 19h07 yesterday"

Last accepted Lesvos record was 2010.
