El Annie

Phew..............
In garden today, lots of noise overhead, looked up to see what was going on, swallows really agitated next thing a raptor, low flying disappeared into thicket. El Annie not happy, very close to my feeding station, watched for ages but nothing taken:eek: Back to house to search bird books and try and identify the raptor, no chance!!!!

Hi El Annie

My guess would be Sparrowhawk. They are usually the ones that appear to skim their underside on hedges and fences as they nip along from garden to garden.. Sometimes so quickly that you do not even see them.

hi el annie.
it would be a sparrowhawk, like a stealth bomber, they are so
quite, and will chase prey into hedges on foot.

Bert dont wanna rain on your parade, but this thread was Aug 2002, EL annie eloped with a sailor and took off for the south seas last year. Are you working your way through all the threads
or are you in a time warp? if the latter put your shirt on federer to win wimbledon in 2003 you should get at least 50/1 in your time zone.

Warning! This thread is more than 21 years ago old.
