Nikon neck strap (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
I have a Nikon Premier LXL 8X32, which I purchased this February. Individual threads have started unraveling from the edge of the strap. I really like the strap and do not want to replace it if I can avoid it. I have thought about applying a liquid that stops unraveling on clothing when you have a rip, but it would be visible, and maybe uncomortable on my neck.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do?

Thanks,

Lew

Yes, I have had that problem and it happened suddenly. The strap was OK when I set off on a 3 or 4 hour walk in the rain in Scotland recently and when I returned and was taking my binnies off and also my wet weather gear, I kept finding whisps of black thread all over my shirt. I then noticed that the binnie strap was shredded and was 'leaking' material. I got a replacement strap but the problem was caused by the velcro on the one side (the hooked side) of my rain gear which had 'grabbed' the binnie strap while I was walking and effectively filed the strap.
