I picked up his book (possibly he has more than one) on the recommendation of a classmate. I was of course blown away by his work, but then amazed to realize that he is a contemporary - not someone who was great 'back then'. He does inspiring work!

it's a real reminder of how life was in the pre-internet era: his Wildlife Sketchbook in 1980 approx felt like a practically unique opportunity to see some contemporary bird painting along with Warren and the Jonsson earthquake: I guess it must be better by miles to operate in today's world of websites for everyone, and new work everyday, but I do miss that sense of privilege and excitement as a new book came out..
