After studying digiscoping for about a year and many rather unsuccessful tries to come up with decent pictures, I think I finally made it. I am pleased to post a few decent pictures - not as sharp as some we see in this forum, but I'm getting there.
Here is my setup:
PF-80ED Pentax scope
WX-20 Pentax 20mm Eyepiece (25X)
P5100 Nikon P&S Camera
3rd party screw-on lens adaptor with 52mm/43mm step-down ring
Hoodman Hoodloupe Professionnal, 0X with diopter adjustment
Benro C-298N6 Carbon Tripod
Benro KS-1 Ball Head
The female Mallard was about 3-5 meters away.
Lens at minimum zoom 7.5mm, total magnification 17.5X, ISO 100, 1/323 s., f/2.7
The Hooded Mergansers were at about 75-100 meters.
Lens at max. zoom 26.3mm (61.5X), ISO 100, 1/97 s., f/5.3
The Gulls were at about 200 meters.
Lens at 26.3mm (61.5X), ISO 100, 1/306 s., f/5.3
Cropping and sharpening in PS.
Thanks to all of those who supported and helped me during this period.
Best regards
Jules
