Any ideas or suggestions as to what software or program would be good for keeping a life list of birds.

I've used Birder's Diary for a number of years now & am very happy with it. It's extremely versatile & powerful & a lot of fun to use. Check out the website (http://www.birdersdiary.com/) for a full description.

Be very wary of using Wings. I've subscribed recently but not yet received an activation code, nor any reply to my emails enquiring why not. Also, some of the main contact emails they list do not work.

Anyone else had these problems, or can anyone vouch for the product still being supported?

EDIT: I have now had an email from Steven Furino acknowledging there's a problem.

You might find this informative:

I use Wildlife Lister but, like them all, it has good points and bad points; I like the "speech to text" facility and the feature allowing photos (and other media) to be tagged to sightings.

I know people who use the Swarovski Birding facility (free) for keeping country and life lists but just checked and their website is down for contructional improvements at the moment.
