Places to visit around Scunthorpe (1 Viewer)

Try far Ings (reedbeds and pools) and Alkborough flats (mudflats for waders). Between the two lies worlaby carrs which can be excellent for raptors (to buzzard, hen harrier,SEO and barn owl)

Try some of these

Messingham Sand quarry (Snipe, Whooper Swan, Otter, Marsh Harrier)
Laughton Forest (Crossbill, Redpoll, Siskin)
Alkborough Flats (Waders, Marsh Harrier, Bearded Tit, Merlin, Peregrine)
Barton (Bearded Tit, Water Rail, Marsh Harrier)
Crowle Moor
Worlaby Carrs (Raptors)
Bonby Carrs
Saxby Bridge
RSPB Blacktoft Sands (Hen+Marsh Harrier, Water Rail, Bearded Tit, Waders)

Hope this helps.

I know this is a late post and I go along with everyone else in recommending the places mentioned. I would also add Normanby Park and I have, in the past before I moved to the USA, found Julians Bower at Alkborough to be a good vantage point over fields and trees.
