Bluetit Bully (1 Viewer)

The Bluetits in our nestbox seem particularly aggressive this year! - I have some feeders up close, but not too close to the box. Any bird, particularly golfinches, that come anywhere near the feeders are immediately set upon by one or other or sometimes both tits - and they won't stop chasing the poor bird until it is well out of the garden! I've seen this behaviour before but never to this extent.

Funny you should mention that. I have noticed exactly the same thing. We have had blue tits nesting in our garden for some years and I have never noticed them being as protective as they are this year. We get a lot of siskins and they seem to get seen off as soon as the tit sees them, although they also chase off robins and most of the other small birds that come near the feeders.
