Wildfowl records winter 1979/80

Hi John how's it going?
I have some records of wildfowl on the moors pool during the winter of 79/80. Can't remember if I submitted them anywhere. This is one example of 5 species I recorded. I was on crutches at the time and my dad took me every week from November to March. If they are of interest let me know.
Cheers
Geoff Laight.

All good thanks Geoff hope you too.
Its interesting to see how numbers were prior to Amy's Marsh creation (1993) and when winters were much more freezing than nowadays.

Please keep an eye on colour ringed Curlews at Upton Warren following the release of a number of "head started" juveniles at WWT Slimbridge. Further details of this hopefully productive project are linked here: https://www.wwt.org.uk/news/2019/06/...-arrival/17039

These birds will be carrying a yellow ring on their right tibia and a white ring on their left tibia; the white ring is inscribed with a number between 21 and 99.

Avocets still getting aggressive esp towards large gulls. They only have to start straying over from Sailing Pool and at least 4 vocal adults circle quickly to gain height and chase off the offender.
