Managed to spot this guy enjoying the sedum plant in my garden,can anyone identify it for me.
Still trying to come to terms with macro work.

Common Carder Bee is my guess, the hairs above the wings are often darker but I have seen pics of paler examples. I'm not a great bee expert, but this is quite common and is likely contender.

I gather that we have over 250 species in this country so I wouldn't be surprised to be corrected!
