Hi fellas!

I just started a big thread with alot of questions but figured I could put a small part if it here aswell:

How good is Kowa standard glass? Like for example the 601 or 82SV? With a fixed eyepiece and a zoom when the weather is at it's best, would you give up a whole lot? How much has changed since ye 'ol TSN-1 was the way to go? Of course the 601 has too tiny if an aperture to ever be considerd putting a zoom on but could the glass itself handle it? I am not into digiscoping, I just occasionally hand hold my phone to the ep to make my dad jealous of my findings.

Hi Arvid,

If you can afford it, always go for the better lens...ED, XD, HD, pays off in the long run.

However, of Kowa's newer scopes, only the 883/884 models allegedly have the fluorite lenses.
