Help with Red Breasted Sapsucker (1 Viewer)

Hello California!

Two of us Coloradoans will be making a revenge tour next week of a few of our nemeses, including the Red-breasted Sapsucker. Range maps, ebird, and local advice in the past has taken us to where this widespread non-rarity ought to have been, in CA, OR, and BC, all to no avail.

After Magpie-chasing in Davis, if I'm to believe ebird again, the Clear Lake State Park looks like a good base to chase the sapsucker from (thinking of camping there a night or two). Can anyone confirm, or suggest a more likely spot?

Thanks,

Dave in Denver
