You could be right about the last one, but the correct link would be https://www.ukmoths.org.uk/species/agrotis-puta/ not ssp. insula, which only occurs on the Isles of Scilly.

No magic intended in my selection of Shuttle-shaped Dart image.

More generally, I've always understood 'subspecies' not to be interpreted in the same way within moths as say for instance with birds. So they are more generally forms that tend to reflect experiences of individual collectors. Is that fair? Is there a formal body that deals with nomenclature?

It wouldn't surprise me if my understanding is wrong so delighted to be educated.

A couple of new ones for my list !
I agree that No. 1 could well be Copper Underwing. It was a fairly tatty specimen and not as well marked as some I have trapped.
