Elephant Hawk Moth (1 Viewer)

Hi.....my lovely cat brought in several elephant hawk moth caterpillars last year. I did try to return them to their original spot but my kitty just kept bringing them back....so I set up a home for them (with advice for the lovely Internet) and they all cocooned.

Anyway.....I now have one which has emerged......beautiful little critter he is too. However, I now need to know how long it is I need to wait before setting him free? He has now extended his wings and has flapped them a few times so am guessing they are now strengthening.....so do I let him go now and do I release during the day or during the evening?

Any help would be great fully appreciated. Thanking you in advance.
